GK GLOBAL IN HISTORY

The foundations of GK Global date back to engineering and infrastructure projects that began in 1948. Since then, hundreds of projects have been realized in Türkiye and across different countries, delivering infrastructure solutions that shaped urban development. Roads, metro systems, hospitals, hotels, factories, dams and various industrial facilities formed a broad portfolio that strengthened the Group’s engineering legacy and project execution capability.

Between 1948 and the early 2000s, this accumulated expertise evolved not only through technical achievements but through a philosophy focused on producing lasting solutions for the fundamental needs of cities. This long-standing period created the strong infrastructure and implementation culture that forms the backbone of GK Global’s corporate structure.

In the 2000s, this experience was restructured under a new corporate vision centered on urbanization and living space investments. In 2004, GK Global entered the residential project development field and delivered one of Istanbul’s first metro projects, contributing significantly to the city’s transportation infrastructure. This marked a turning point in transforming project development culture into a structured investment approach.

In 2005, GK Global introduced sports and culture into urban life by organizing the Istanbul Cup, Türkiye’s first international tennis tournament licensed by the WTA. This initiative demonstrated the Group’s commitment to contributing not only to physical infrastructure but also to the social and cultural fabric of cities.

In the following years, the corporate structure was strengthened by bringing different business lines under the Group umbrella. In 2012, Soul Entertainment Group was established, expanding investments into sports and lifestyle-oriented developments. In 2013, GK Bulgaria was founded, extending international project development activities into Europe.

The year 2015 represented a major milestone in engineering and organizational capacity. GKMC was established to focus on structural strengthening and advanced engineering solutions. In the same year, Türkiye’s first tennis arena with a retractable roof was inaugurated with the participation of Roger Federer, and the Group hosted ATP tournaments. These achievements demonstrated GK Global’s ability to integrate engineering excellence with urban lifestyle investments.

In 2020, with the establishment of SEG Bulgaria, GK Global expanded into hotel and restaurant operations in Europe, entering the international hospitality and food & beverage sectors. This strategic move represented a new phase of growth that diversified the Group’s living space investments.

Today, GK Global continues its operations as an international investment and development group that combines its engineering heritage dating back to 1948 with urbanization and living space investments. Its strong legacy of infrastructure and project experience merges with a vision of creating projects that add lasting value to the cities of the future, forming a permanent bond between cities, people and generations to come.
